Stress in our lives can be:
(from trauma, accidents, falls, injuries, etc)
(losses of loved ones, job changes, relationship changes, moving, stuck emotions, other upsets)
(toxins from what we eat, what’s in our environment like allergies or chemicals that we breathe)
When these stressors occur, our brain and nervous system are supposed to handle it. But when the stress piles up, our body actually starts to shut down it’s ability to deal with it. Our breathing becomes shallow, our muscles, joints and ligaments start to lock up and tighten, the blood and oxygen gets cut off from our thinking brain and goes to the reactive “fight or flight” brain and so the downward spiral begins. Our bodybrain goes into a rabbit hole of stress…and then we become disconnected from our abilities to handle the little things, and the big things too. The body and brain have to be on the same page in life. By the same page, I mean they work together to help you deal with or negotiate stress. If they aren’t on the same page, you may push yourself with your mind and your body starts to experience symptoms. This is typical of what I run into in my office where clients say “I’m good, I’m fine, I’m dealing with stress well…” but they are tired, emotionally drained, burnt out, etc.
